My 011015?. Following from General Hazes begins: China Theatre surrender will be signed September 3rd repeat September 3rd. Before Hong Kong signature can be effected it will be necessary to have agreement of H. M. Government to points contained in N.A. signal in 3 parts timed 3102102: and at meeting today General Wedemeyer insisted that points in part 3 of that signal must also be agreed before repeat before surrender and that Chinese and American representatives could not leave for Hong Kong before that agreement had been received here. Travel arrangements must depend on your reply to N.A. signal under reference P (? 72) H. M. Ambassador considers it essential that signature be delayed until Chinese and American witnesses are present. C. in C. East Indies please repeat to C. in C. British Pacific Fleet.
